Nora Gaines

Nora Gaines is an Essayist for Stories Connect. She has worked for the last decade in organizing, public policy, anti-racism and adult education/training. Nora currently works as a Lead Trainer and Racial Justice Organizer, Co-directs the Women's Legislative Leadership Project and Organizes and Trains with Chicago Regional Organizing Against Racism (CROAR). Nora earned her M.A. in African-American studies from Columbia University and B.A. in Sociology from University of Maryland. Nora will focus on intersectionality, cultural and structural racism, dismantling the dominate narrative, overcoming internalized oppression and sharing her analysis and experiences as a person on the margins in the struggle for liberation and justice.
